My first day here and the weather is perfect!
I'm not very interested in touring the Statue of Liberty, but it is such a pretty day, I'm taking the Staten Island Ferry instead. (I found out later that today is a free day at all National Parks).
The
Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the
middle of New York Harbor. Designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated
on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France.
