Grandma Addie Lives Through Her Stitching

My husband's Aunt Laura sent me blocks made by her mother Addie. Sara Adeline "Addie" Raney was born July3, 1899 in Jasper Arkansas. She married Charles Milton Warren who was born August 4, 1896. They were married October 5, 1914 had 13 children.


We think she embroidered these blocks about 1975 a few years before her death in 1980.

Aunt Laura wanted a double bed quilt done in warm colors. I warned her that I am NOT a very traditional quilt maker. Having no quilt history in my family, this was a very special honor for me to work on these family blocks.
