For the Love of Fabric – Pacific West Quilt Show October 15th at 8:30am and 11:30am

For the Love of Fabric – Pacific West Quilt Show

Nearly five thousand quilt enthusiasts converged on downtown Tacoma in August for the 3-day, 2011 Pacific West Quilt show. The excitement in the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center was palpable as more than 500 traditional quilts, innovative quilts, art quilts, pictorial quilts and wearable art from 18 US states and Canadian provinces were put on display. Winners of the juried and judged event were chosen from 227 finalists.

With unprecedented access, KBTC public television went behind the scenes to capture the well-organized preparations for the show, including detailed footage of the judging by professional National Quilt Association Certified Judges. This is a process that is often not revealed to the public, so enquiring minds - who might have wondered what quilt judges are looking for when they award their ribbons - will get some answers.

For the Love of Fabric – Pacific West Quilt Show premiers on KBTC public television Saturday,
October 15th at 8:30am and 11:30am.
