Kimono: A Modern History at the MET

Utagawa Kokunimasa (Japanese, 1874–1944) | Swimming at Ōiso, Distant Views of Mount Fuji | JP3382a–c
I was pleased when I accidentally managed to be there a couple of days after this fiber exhibit opened.
The exhibit featured more than fifty spectacular kimono's dating from the eighteenth century to the present day, this exhibition tells a story about the Japanese garment whose designs mirror trends in pictorial and decorative arts of every era.
