Quilting serves several purposes. First of course, is the function of holding the layers together. Quilting can create wonderful texture, introducing new lines to enhance the overall design. How you choose to quilt a piece will be determined by personal preference, your level of expertise, the quilts use and amount of time you wish to dedicate to the project.
