  1. Make (something) more attractive by the addition of decorative details or features: "blue silk embellished with golden embroidery".
Perhaps my favorite word in my quilting vocabulary! For me this covers paint, beads, buttons, thread and anything else I can add to my quilts!

button covers? really??
I'm looking for new ideas all the time and my collection of photographs reflects this.I'm sorry to say that I have no idea who made this but I just loved it! Note; I am NOT planning on making one any time soon!

It's Time for the Fair, the Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair - Do the Puyallup is the largest single attraction held annually in the state of Washington. The Washington State Fair is one of the biggest fairs in the world, and the largest in the Pacific Northwest. It started in 1900 in Puyallup, and welcomes over one million guests to the single largest attended event in the state. Star-studded entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers and animals are mainstays of the 17-day event in September. For more info about the Sept. 6-22, 2013 Washington State Fair, visit, or text “FAIR” to 87767.

I'm one of the judges for the quilts this year. "The wide range of colors makes the Home Arts Department’s quilt contest a kaleidoscope each year, and this will be no exception at the Washington State Fair. Entries will be displayed at the Washington State Fair, Sept. 6-22, 2013."

Experiment while you learn how to match thread to the appropriate needle, make the tension setting your best friend and troubleshoot your way to fun and fancy sewing.

Joining the Blocks: Quilt-As-You-Go Style
Learn to join pre-quilted blocks using several innovative techniques. Go home ready to make larger machine quilted quilts without all the work of trying to get it into your machine.
