Stitching Through the Layers - the Details

Marrakesh
(from Stitching Through the Layers)
Diagonals tend to convey the notion of energy and excitement which is just right for this striking quilt. Using the fabric pattern on the back, this was stitched entirely from the back, first with a very thick purple thread wound on the bobbin and then a thin orange machine embroidery thread going the other direction.

That is just fantastic. I love the quilting. It certainly does add movement. My favorite colors too!

Thanks Ricci. I had a great time quilting ten quilts for the book, all with straight lines!
