Beads on My Quilts

A bead is a small, decorative object that is formed in a variety of shapes and sizes of a material such as stone, bone, shell, glass, plastic, wood or pearl and that a small hole is drilled for threading or stringing. Beads range in size from under 1 millimeter (0.039 in) to over 1 centimeter (0.39 in) in diameter.

Here are a couple of small quilts before and after pictures, that's before and after beads!

Beautiful work!

Everything is about texture for me. I kept wondering how I could use beads on touch quilts. I picked up the solution from Laura McGrath's post this week on Set It on Fire. She used strands of beads under a sheer curtain from the dump. I'll capture my Mardi Gras beads by stitching them into little rivulets under organza so they can't be picked free by exploring fingers.
